Breaking news - The Historic Formula Vee Association of Australia (HFVAA) has announced that Motorsport Australia, through its Historic Motorsport Committee (HMC), has approved an eligibility date extension for Historic Formula Vee racing cars.
This means that Formula Vee racing cars with a competition history established from 1986 through to the end of 1991 are now able to apply for historic certification to participate in historic racing.
In announcing this welcomed update, HFVAA President Dean Briggs thanked the members of Motorsport Australia’s HMC for this progressive decision and said that “This date extension will enable the participation of many cars that are currently in storage. The approval will allow an extended range of cars and drivers to join this very popular historic category. Seeing these cars racing in period correct configuration and in such numbers also makes the category a spectator’s and promoter’s delight”.
The HFVAA has a focus on ensuring that there is a well structured member support plan in place and has recently undertaken a detailed analysis of regulations and guidance for car setup and operation. The HFVAA also publishes a schedule to target specific historic race meetings to support promoters and achieve full race fields. Historic Formula Vee delivers a friendly competitive environment with a variety of track experiences available that suit the needs of all levels of driver ability and commitment.
